What Do We Provide?

We provide a place to call home. In fact, many residents believe that they do own the home. We provide comfort, security, and a sense of belonging. Their home is on a street that speaks of community.

Inside their home they are assisted with their daily needs: Good food, exercise, medicines, social and private events.

Outside the home, residents are always escorted, either by family or friends, or one of us - their extended family. Outside the home are appointments or social events.

How Do We Provide?

Our philosophy is: "If you don't use it, you'll lose it." We encourage everyone to do as much as they are capable. We encourage exercise with walks through the neighborhood, or a ride on a peddling machine, which allows you to sit in your favorite chair while getting a workout. We encourage involvement with daily living such as dressing, hygiene (with assistance), tidying of your room and just helping out around the house. For example, residents help with setting the table, folding clothes, or other activities that they like doing.

We are but a part of an important triangle: The family, the medical team and the caregiver. To achieve the best results, there must be communication. We are in close contact with the families and the medical team passing information and providing recommendations to assist in the best possible care. We are available to the family and the medical team virtually any time. Observation and communication is the key.

Observation and assistance is effectively accomplished by having two staff members for every six residents. Our goal is that residents never wait to be assisted. Our staff's primary purpose is to assist the resident in doing the most they can do for themselves.

Our homes are equipped to monitor those that tend to wander with alerting devices and perimeter fencing. Those that feel they must walk outside the yard are escorted by the staff.

All medical appointments are attended by either Maria, Jerry or another member of the team to provide up-to-date information to the medical team.
